Glenwood "Glen" Clarkson
The sudden passing of Glenwood “Glen†James Clarkson of Fredericton, NB, husband of Greta (DeLucry) Clarkson, occurred on Friday, November 12, 2010 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on February 18, 1931, in North Tay, Glen was a son of the late Howard and Helen Clarkson. Glen was involved in the plumbing industry throughout his career in supply and sales. He was employed by James S Neill & Sons (Bird - Stairs) and Westburne until his retirement in 1996. Glen was a member of St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the cottage at Grand Lake. In addition to his wife, Glen is survived by two children, Andrew (Lynn) Clarkson of Fredericton and Sandra (Richard) Derbawka of Alpharetta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Jenna and Jillian Clarkson, Nicholas and Matthew Derbawka; one brother, Darrell (Donna) Clarkson of Sherwood Park, AB; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Glen was predeceased by one brother, Gordon Clarkson, and one sister, Celine Chisholm.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place from St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 12 noon with Father John Jennings as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Tay Creek. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice and would be appreciated by the family.
