NICHOLS, Peter Arthur — 51, of Truro and formerly of Halifax, son of Arthur and Paulie Nichols of Truro, passed away on June 18, 2009 in Colchester Regional Hospital. Peter graduated from high school in Truro and, until he was overcome by ill health, was an entrepreneur of strong character and opinions. He was a solitary man who loved the children of his brothers and friends and always enjoyed spending time with them imparting life lessons from his wealth of experiences. A lover of flowers, when life dealt him a nasty blow he took it with dignity and derived pleasure from his garden. Peter is survived by his parents, Art and Paulie; brother, John (Judy) and their children, Travis, Bryce and Carin; brother, Scott (Michelle) and his children, Blair, Anne Louise and Bryan, and countless friends who will always know him as "Punkin". Peter was a brother of Phi Kappa Pi fraternity at Dalhousie University. Cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will take place from 2pm to 4pm, Sunday June 28th at the Valley Kemptown & District Fire Brigade hall, Valley Crossroads, Truro.
