ROGERS, Reta Grace – 87, of Yarmouth, passed away peacefully in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on November 8, 2010. Born on July 5, 1923, in South Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Emma (Pitman) Ryerson. She was a member of Zion United Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a homemaker and a partner in her husband’s garage business on Kempt Street. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she looked forward to seeing them often. Her refrigerator was covered with school pictures, which she admired everyday. Rita was the last and youngest surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by daughter, Pam (Robert) Saulnier, Yarmouth; sons, Glen (Cathy) Rogers, Truro; George (Elaine) Rogers, Prince George; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband, George Rogers; sisters, Jennie Ryerson, Hazel Moses and Letha Eldridge-Harding; brothers, Edward, Gordon, Amos and Keith Ryerson. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Yarmouth. Visitation took place Thursday, November 11 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held Friday, November 12 at 2 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Brian Wallace officiated.
