Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on June 9, 2009, at the age of 84 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 63 years Reginald; also her nine children: Enos (Evelyn), Stephenville, with whom she resided, Basil (Audrey), Deer Lake, Orvan (Joan), Alberta, Lionel, Stephenville, Tony (Robin), Deer Lake, Vida (Hugh) Porter, Port De Grave, Phyllis (David) Smith, St. John’s, Cora Saunders (Howard), Stephenville and Brenda (Rodger) Sloan, Alberta; her sixteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and her brother Stewart (Minnie) Roberts of Springdale. Also leaving to mourn a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents William and Louisa Roberts; her brothers: Frederick, William, Walter and Samuel. She rested at Russell’s Funeral Home in Stephenville on Wednesday, June 10 and Thursday, June 11; and on Friday, June 12 at the Salvation Army Church in Deer Lake from where the funeral took place. Burial followed at the Cemetery on Wight’s Road, Deer Lake. Major Terry Hopkins officiated. In lieu of flowers, donations are being made to the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital Foundation, Stephenville in Barbara’s memory.
