Gordon Dunham Sr
DUNHAM, Gordon William Sr. - It is with great sadness the family announce the death of Gordon W. Dunham of Saint John, devoted husband for 58 years to Doreen (Manual) Dunham, formerly of Baie Ste. Anne, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on November 14, 2010. Born in Saint John in 1926 to the late Walter and Florence (Jefferson) Dunham. Gordon was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time with family, friends and pets through out his life. Besides his wife, Gordon is survived by his daughter Florence Dunham of Saint John; son Gordie Dunham (Karen) of Nauwigewauk; several sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents as well as his younger brother Joseph. Gordon was politically involved, supporting the NDP party, as well as being a part of the Concerned Citizens Group. He was a member of the Longshoreman Association and later a union member of Saint John Shipbuilding and Drydock.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424). Following cremation, the family will receive friends on Sunday, November 21, 2010 from 7 to 9 pm. A memorial mass and interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gordon's memory may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, Saint John Animal Rescue League or to the charity of the donor's choice.
