Lieu de décès : Kamloops, Colombie Britannique, Canada
Date de décès : 15 novembre 2010
1929 ~ 2010
Jean Gray, 81 years, of Kamloops, B.C. passed away on November 15th, 2010.
Jean was born in Epworth, England and immigrated to Canada in 1957 with her husband Alan and their two children Patricia and Christopher. The family settled in Red Deer, Alberta and later moved to Vulcan and Grand Prairie, Fernie, Summerland and finally Oliver, B.C., where they built their home. Jean and her husband operated a building supply store and other small businesses in Oliver for a number of years before retiring in the early 90's. After the passing of her husband, Jean moved to Kamloops in 2003 to be closer to her daughter, her two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.
Jean was very involved in every community in which she lived. In Oliver, she belonged to the local chapter of the Soroptimist Foundation and in Kamloops she regularly volunteered at the seniors centre. Jean's quick smile made her many friends at home and on her travels throughout Canada and abroad. Jean had a passion for gardening which she shared with her daughter and granddaughters.
Jean is survived by her brother Leslie (Marie) Foster, of Epworth, England, her son Christopher of Edmonton, daughter Patricia Cutler and son-in-law Raymond Visser, granddaughters Nadine (Luke) Hamilton and Jodi (Bradley) Plowe all of Kamloops. Her great-grandchildren, Erin and Quinn Plowe and Cole and Jane Hamilton will miss 'Granny' the most.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive, with Chaplain Mary Widmer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Kamloops Hospice Association.
