1921 - 2010 - George Henry Calam, 89, of Dieppe, passed away on Wednesday, November 17th, 2010, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital. Born in Yorkshire, England, he was the son of the late Thomas Hatfield and the late Louise Mary (née: Masterman) Calam.
Mr. Calam was a WW II veteran, afterward he was self-employed in light trucking and was a member of Ste.-Thérèse parish. He is survived by two daughters: Louise (Léo) Leger of Brantford, ON and Mary-Ann (Paul) LeBlanc of Irishtown; four sons: Richard, Frederick “Mutt”, Ronald and Robert “Tipper”, all of Dieppe; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Rose in 2009; two sisters: Nora and Eva and also by three brothers: Billy, Ernest and Freddie.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Sunday from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 pm and also on Monday from 10 am until time of departure. Funeral mass will be celebrated from Ste.-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB on Monday, November 22nd, 2010 at 11 am. Interment in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
