SORENSON, Kenneth Wilfred; February 12, 1922 – November 13, 2010; After a long and full life, Ken passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the age of 88 years. He is survived by his loving wife Viola, and children, Terry (Ted Hesch) of Calgary, Wayne (Anne Marie) of Medicine Hat, and Bruce (Heather) of Saskatoon; nine grandchildren Kendra, Kelly, Kirk, Tara, Randi, Kaelee, Greg, Derrick, and Cole; five great grandchildren Avery, Neve, Livia, Ayla, and Teja; one brother, Dale Sorenson of Estevan, Saskatchewan, one sister-in-law, Velma Case of Calgary, Alberta, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by mother, Elizabeth; father, Andrew; brothers, Bernard and Chester; and his twin brother, Keith. Ken was one of five sons, who grew up on a farm near Stelcam, Saskatchewan, receiving his education in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He was a World War II Veteran, who served for four years in the Lake Superior Regiment, Armour Division in the Holland, England, France, Belgium and Germany campaign. On April 11, 1947, he married Viola Mullenix. While living in Swift Current, Ken and Vi had three children, Terry, Wayne and Bruce. Ken had many successful ventures in his career-- from a partnership in Smith Airways, to sales for Standard Motors, to starting his own GM dealership in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. Ken and Vi loved their cabin at Lac Pelletier where they always enjoyed having family and friends gather, and where many wonderful memories were made. Ken's last few years were spent in Calgary with family. Ken touched many lives, and he will be missed by all those who knew him. His courage and strength in his fight against cancer will not be forgotten. A Celebration of Ken's life will be held at Warren's Funeral Home, Swift Current, Sk. on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 2:00 with Shirley Wilson officiating. A Life Tribute was presented by Cory Pearson.
