Passed peacefully away on November 22, 2010 at Chancellor Park surrounded by the love of her family, Lotty Wight at the age of 80 years, born December 24, 1929, in King’s Cove, Bonavista Bay. Lotty was a very proud graduate of the General Hospital School of Nursing graduating with her RN in 1951. Predeceased by her husband Ralph in 2000. Left with cherished memories are sons: Danny and Bob (Bev) and daughter Dawn (Don Fitzgerald); daughter-in-law Violet; her treasured grandchildren, her pride and joy: Christopher, Leslie, David, Ian, Erin, Christian, Erica and Michael; great-granddaughter Carley; sisters: Moira Schurman and Dolly Lyle; sisters-in-law Doris Wight, Pearl Smith; brother-in-law Hunter Wight (Jean); and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. A sincere thank you to the caring staff of Chancellor Park for looking after our mother’s every need for the past three years making Mom’s journey as comfortable and respectful as possible. Mom’s strong and quiet spirit guided us each through our life’s journeys. Her love, respect and strong dedication to her family will always be remembered. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Tuesday 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 11 a.m. from Trinity United Church held at First United Church, Mount Pearl on Park Ave. with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
