1921 - 2010 - Shediac River - Gérard Cormier, 89, passed away suddenly at the Residence 'Ti' Bons Soins in Shediac on Monday, November 29, 2010. Born in St-Paul-de-Kent on April 5, 1921, he was the son of the late Alphée and Alida (Gaudet) Cormier. He worked for Continental Can in Toronto for 30 years. Gérard and his wife, Evangéline would have been celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on December 2nd, 2010. Gérard will sadly be missed by his wife, Evangéline (Doiron); his son, Paul (Yvonne) of Ottawa, ON; his daughter, Joanne Young (Peter) of Edmonton; three brothers, Désiré (late Marie), Philias (Dévita) both of Ashby, Mass, Léonide (Anita) of Grande-Digue; two sisters, Eveline Hébert (Euclide) of Moncton, Léona Cormier of Dieppe; four grandchildren, Breton, Darcy, Sarah and Daniel; also one aunt and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Rita.
Visitations will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Wednesday, December 1st from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, also on Thursday, December 2nd from 9 to10 am. Funeral service will be held at La Visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue on Thursday, December 2nd at 10:30 am. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation or donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
