HOWEY - Theresa Maxine Mae (nee Staddon) passed away to the age of 76 years at her home in Raymond, AB on Sunday, November 21, 2010. Funeral services were held in Vanguard, SK on November 26, 2010, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. Maxine is survived by her sister Georgina Denham, her brother Robert Staddon (Reona), children Ross (Tammy) Howey, Karen (Blaine) Heebner, Wanda (Morris) Jones, Loreen (Leo) Beauchamp, Vicki (Clint) Howey, her mother-in-law Janie Buchanan, her sisters-in-law Velma Sutherland and June Maxwell, and her brother-in-law Ken Howey. Maxine will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Dallas Hansen, Ryan Heebner, Chelsea Culler, Kaitlin Friesen, Tyson, Brett and Amanda Jones, Clinton and Dustin Beauchamp, Kristyna, Brennan and Emily Chant. Great grandchildren include Cameron and Cayden Culler, Jackson Beauchamp, Nathan Heebner and Colby Friesen along with numerous nieces and nephews. Maxine was predeceased by her parents William and Artell Staddon, and her sister Eunice Marsh and her brother-in-law Vic Howey. Maxine was born on April 24, 1934 in Vanguard, SK where she attended school. Maxine continued to live in Vanguard where she was employed as a telephone operateor. After leaving Vanguard she continued her profession in Calgary, AB and later Ponteix, SK. She married Dale Howey in 1955, and they farmed together with their 5 children until retiring to Swift Current in 1977 and later returned to Vanguard. Maxine enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, doing puzzles and reading. She also especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In 2006, she left Vanguard to be near family in Raymond, AB. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. If friends so desire memorial tributes in Maxine's name can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 2M2. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Piche-Hawkins-Grondin Funeral Chapels, Assiniboia & Gravelbourg. The family of Maxine Howey wish to express their gratitude to her sister-in-law June Maxwell and all of her friends in Vanguard who helped her during her battle with cancer. Also a special thinks to the ladies at the Marigold Manor in Raymond for all the love and care they gave our mother.
