MOSS - Arthur Moss passed away unexpectedly June 10, 2009, at the age of eighty-eight years. Dad was born November 6, 1920, in Newport South Wales. He joined the army as an air traffic controller and was sent to Swift Current to train at the airport. He was with the Corps. for seventeen years and in the last few years he was a flight engineer working on innovative new jets. During that time he met and married the love of his life, Iris. When he was discharged they decided to take a chance and leave all they had known and move to Canada. Art had worked with the CPR and other jobs but found the right fit in 1963 when he started working with the school board as a custodian at various schools in the city. Art loved working at the schools and many kids to this day say that they remember how much fun he was that he would take the time to play kick ball with them or just joke around with them. Dad was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, danced with round and square dance clubs and was an avid gardener. Art was predeceased by his beloved Iris; his parents; and younger sister; and is survived by his children, Cliff (Wendy), Barry (Sheila), Wayne (Brenda), Cheryl (Daren); grandchildren, David, Heather, Christopher, Tanya, Scott, Paige and Timothy; his brother, John and his children in Wales. The memorial service was held at St. Stephen's Anglican Church with Archdeacon Rob Hardwick officiating. The organist was Gloria Robinson. The Legion members provided an honour guard and Neil McCrie was the piper at the graveside. Interment was at the Veteran's plot at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In memory of Art, donations can be made to the Saskatchewan Alzheimer's Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Warren's Funeral was entrusted with the arrangements.
