It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leo "Jake" Gould announce his sudden passing on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010 at his family residence in Port au Choix, NL, at the age of 69 years. Leaving to mourn his wife Ida; children Andrea (Wayne) Gould, Brampton, Ontario, Tyson (Ashley), Grande Prairie, Alberta and Tanya, Brampton, Ontario; grandchildren Gregory and Tristen; brothers Raymond (Ellen), Bruce and John; sisters Mary (Wes) Snyder, Yvonne Hayes, Clara (Ernie), Laura (James) Plowman, Paulette (Alfie) and Janice (Rick), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Leo and Charolette and sister Darlene. The family received friends at Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix on Tuesday and Wednesday. The funeral service took place at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, Dec. 2 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Lee Lainey officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.
