J. Edith Rae
J. Edith Rae of Dumfries, NB, passed away December 1, 2010 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born at Rossville, NB on April 29, 1931, she was a daughter of the late William C. and Nina P. (MacFarlane) Morrison. Edith was a member of the St. Clement's Anglican Church, ACW, Women's Institute, Red Fedoras, Eastern Star, Dumfries Fire Auxiliary, Prince William 50 Plus Club, Antique Car Club, Head Pond Twirlers Square Dancer Club and a 50 year member of the RCL Southampton Branch Ladies Auxiliary. Before her retirement she was employed as a Telephone Switchboard Operator, Kings Landing Snack Bar Employee and a clerk at Perley Rae's Store. Edith is survived by her husband of 60 years, Allan E. Rae; her children, Margaret Cummings (Ashley), Keswick Ridge, Carol Little (Stuart), York Mills, Eugene Rae (Dawn Louise), Fort McMurray, AB, Marie Tretiak (Harry), Hawkshaw and Gale Rae (Deborah), Woodstock; ten grandchildren, Melissa Cummings (Raymond), Amy Cummings (Scott), Shannon Wiebe (Tim), Sean Little, Tiffany Rae, Abbey Rae, Rae Tretiak, Billy Tretiak, Jacqueline Rae and Emily Rae; four great grandchildren, Jonah Wiebe, Lindsay Wiebe, Deacon Rae and Edie Cummings; six sisters, Olah Cronkhite, Temperance Vale, Ruth Brown, Bear Island, Myrna Houle (Jim), Woodstock, Avis Durost (Bob), Mars Hill, ME, Violet Rosborough (Billy), Fredericton and Nina Anne Bradley (Ronnie), Dumfries; three brothers, Alton Morrison (Marjorie), Lakeville, Peter Morrison (Barbara), Prince William and Robert Morrison (Sharon), Rossville; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Jones (Ernest), Fredericton; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Edith was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Ellegood; brothers-in-law, Arnold Cronkhite, Shirley Brown, Harrison Black, Gordon Jewett, Vinal Hatto, William Rae and his wife Iris Rae.
Visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2010 at St. Clement's Anglican Church, 6831 Route 102, Dumfries. Funeral service on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the church with Rev. Kevin Borthwick officiating. A reception will follow at the church. Interment will be at a later date at St. Clement's Anglican Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons Rae Tretiak, Billy Tretiak, Sean Little, Tim Wiebe, Raymond Cormier and Scott Feener.
