59, Westphal, N.S., passed away on December 2, 2010, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Cyril and Isabel (Young) Kemp.
Diane was a loving caring wife and mother. She had a penchant for life, and took pride in her volunteer work with the Gateway community for 27 years. She was an eternal optimist who lived life for the moment, bringing joy to everyone she knew, and never turned a blind eye to the less fortunate. Her favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends at the cottage in Stanley Bridge, P.E.I.
Survived by her husband, Wayne Trudel, Westphal; sons, Ryan (Jennifer), Nicholas; sisters, Deborah (Angus) McCormack, Carla (Steve) Jones, Theresa (John) Bashynski; niece, Kathryn; nephews, Michael, Mark, Stephen (Johanna).
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. A celebration of life will be held 7-9 p.m. Monday. Funeral service 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, 1 Kuhn Drive, Dartmouth. Father Ron Cairns officiating. Reception to follow.
