The death of Ivan Joseph Doucet occurred on Friday December 3, 2010 at the Saint John Residential Hospice. Born 1950 in Sudbury, ON he was the son of Clair (Noonan) Doucet and the late Joseph Doucet. In addition to this father he was predeceased by brother Allan Doucet and sister Linda Campagna. Ivan was a longstanding member of Local 213 for 30 years, having worked for Lepreau, Irving Oil and the Saint John Ship Building. He enjoyed sailing, traveling, golf, reading, electronics and spending time with family and friends. He was also served in the Merchant Marine for 7 years. Besides his mother, he is survived by his son Matthew of St. John's, NF; daughter Michelle Grovesteine of Kentville, NS; brother Raymond Doucet (Pamela) of Stoney Creek, ON; sisters Noella Stark (Norman) of Hamilton, ON, Joyce Boyd of Hamilton, ON and Sandra Masching (Paul) of Cayuga, ON; several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Sunday, December 5, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, December 6, 2010 at 10 a.m. Donations made to Hospice Greater Saint John would be appreciated by the family.
