LAWLOR, Bertha- It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bertha Mary Lawlor announce her passing after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Cappahayden, she worked in St. John's as a registered nurse until her retirement as the Associate Director of Nursing at the Waterford Hospital. Predeceased by her parents: John and Stella Lawlor; brother Ed and lifelong friends: Dr. JJ and Joan Kennedy. Left with fond memories is her sister Terry Harvey (Boston); brother Jack (Las Vegas) and "adopted" family: John Kennedy, Maureen (John) Angel, Sheila Kennedy, Erica, Joanne and Sandra Angel. Visitation at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to take place at St. Patrick's Parish on Monday, December 6, 2010 at 9:30 a.m., followed by interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
