F. Shirley Terris, 85, of ProTem Health Services, Moncton, and formerly of Riverview, with her family at her side, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010.
Born in Hillsborough, she was the daughter of the late Rupert and Ethel (Pattison) Rose.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the S.J. MacArthur AMS group, the Church Autumn Club and a life member of the Presbyterian Church of Canada WMS. She was a former member of the Little Narrows Presbyterian Church, Little Narrows, N.S., former Sunday school teacher, past president of the AMS, former member of the Cape Breton Presbyterian Presbyterey and former CGIT leader for over 20 years.
She was a former volunteer at the Moncton Hospital (pastoral care), enjoyed knitting, flower gardening, reading, socializing with her friends and spending precious time with her family.
Shirley will be sadly missed by her daughters, Cathy Straight Estabrooks (Stuart), Moncton, Rosemary Terris (Paul), Charlottetown, P.E.I.; granddaughters, Leah Leaman (Mike) and Allison Gaudet (Francis); great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joel, Calysta, Marc and Brandon; brother, Fraser Rose (Mabel); sister-in-law, Evelyn Steeves; brother-in-law, Herb Terris; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Curtis A. Terris (October 2000), son-in-law, Bob Straight, sister, Dorothy Dixon, brothers, Vaughan and Douglas Rose, Ronald, Walter and Don McLaughlin.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton, 506-858-1995, Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1:30 p.m., Rev. Dr. Martin Kreplin officiating.
Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Grey's Island Cemetery, Hillsborough.
