Ray Douglas McDormand, 81, of Westport, passed away at Tideview Terrace, Digby, on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010. Born in Westport, he was a son of the late Willard and Harriett (Morrell) McDormand. Ray was an active fisherman for many years and had a great love for the sea. Left to mourn is his beloved wife of 40 years, the former Barbara Frost; sons, Evan (Nadina), Marty (Dawn), and daughter, Linda (Clifton) Moore, all of Westport. He had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Evelyn and Rose, and brothers, Charles and Eugene. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held Dec. 5 in the Westport Baptist vestry, with Rev. David Ingersoll officiating. Private family interment in Hilltop Cemetery, Westport. No flowers by request of the family.
