Funeral Card of Thanks
Joe Power
I Joanna, wife of Joe Power along with his brother Pat, wish to thank all who gave support during the illness and passing of a dearly loved husband, brother and friend. Our kind neighbors, friends, and relatives who sent food to our homes, floral arrangements, mass and sympathy cards and donations to many of Joe’s favorite organizations.
A loving thank you to my sister Nancy, brother David and his family, for being there with me, taking care of all the details. Thank you to my sister-in-law Karen Pyke, for all of her help, and to my niece Krystal for preparing Joe’s obituary. To a very special friend Brenda Gouthro, “thank you buddy”. To say “Thank you” to a man who stayed by my side through Joe’s illness and his passing is not enough, John Mulvihill, you will always have a special place in my heart. To the Cedars Club where Joe spent many happy times with all of his friends, thank you. To all Joe’s friends at the “Steel” your friendship and visits and that very special jersey, made his days a little brighter. I will never forget your kindness to Joe.
A special thank you to all Joe’s friends and co-workers from the correctional center, which formed an honor guard at the funeral home and at the church. He would have been so very proud. A heartfelt thank you to our family physician of many, many years Dr. B. O’Brien and Krystal. Joe had so much respect for you guys. To Dr. Tom Hewlett and all the girls at dialysis and renal clinic, thank you. You were all so very special to Joe. A sincere thank you to all the doctors and nurses who took such good care of Joe over the years, from Glace Bay, Sydney, Halifax and Scotland. Sincere thank you to the staff of Shoppers Drug Mart in Glace Bay, you are all very special people. I would like to thank the VON and its entire staff for the many visits to our home. Also, the New Waterford Home Care workers, whom Joe looked forward to seeing every day. “True Angels” each and every one of you. A sincere thank you to Father Conrad Edwards for his many visits to the hospital and our home.
