(May 20th, 1921 - December 5th, 2010). Passed away after a short battle with cancer which he fought as he lived, quietly and with determination. The youngest of nine children of Charles and Agnes (nee Weathers) Conroy. He was predeceased by his sisters: Sheila (Congregation of the Sacred Heart), Elfreda, and Margaret Henley (Ted); brothers: Jim (Betty), Louis (Olive), Ted (Mary), Harry and Myles. Left to remember and celebrate his life are his wife of 63 years: Marion (nee Carter); children: Jim (Joan), Peter (Audrey) and Mary Conroy; granddaughters: Megan (Ryan), Caelie (Tim) and Emily (Jarred). Special thank you to Dr. Greg Rideout for his ongoing support and care of Hugh. To Sheila Duggan for providing Communion to Mom and Dad and to Fr. Bolton for his support with kind words and prayers as we said goodbye to Hugh. Many thanks to Drs. Reddy, Findlay, Gardiner and to Bernie Power and her team at St. Clare's for their timely diagnosis and assistance to Hugh. To Kelly Ralph and the Community Health Nurses who provided home care and to Dr. Ean Parsons for his compassionate attendance at the end of Hugh's life. Cremation has taken place. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Tuesday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, December 9th, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. from Caul's Chapel. Inurnment to take place at a later date. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation may be made in his name to the Children's Wish Foundation.
