Catherine Matthews, 73, of Sydney Mines, died Thursday, June 18, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ann (MacMullin) McGuigan.
She was as member of Trinity Anglican Church.
She is survived by her son, Brian (Paula), Lake Echo, and Robert, Sydney Mines; and a number of brothers and sisters.
She was predeceased by her husband, Hubert.
Interment services will be held today at 11 a.m. in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Shore Road, Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home.
