December 1929 - December 2010 - Passed away at JFK Hospital in Lantana Florida on December 6, 2010. Born in Rexton, New Brunswick Canada on December 2, 1929, son of the late Edgar St-Pierre and the late Yvonne Girouard, Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Hélène Pelletier, daughters Suzanne Daigle (Sarasota, Fl), Line St-Pierre (Toronto, Ont), Monique Smyth (Moncton, NB), son, Erik St-Pierre (Massena, NY) nine grandchildren and one great grandson. Also living are his sister Marguerite Lacombe who lives in Beauport, Que, and his two brothers Guy St-Pierre from Moncton and Maurice St-Pierre from Montreal, Que. He will be dearly missed. Charles graduated as a medical doctor from Laval University and then established a family practice in the communities of St-Leonard, NB and Van Buren, Me. He subsequently completed a 4-year training program in radiology at McGill University affiliated hospitals then moving his family to Edmundston to join the radiology department at the Edmundston Hospital. A few years later, he relocated to Madawaska Me, joining the Fort Kent medical team. Over the course of his career, he also practiced radiology at the St. Quentin, Woodstock and Grand Falls hospitals. Charles and his wife had been living at Atria Retirement Community in Lantana, Florida and were planning to relocate to the Saint John Valley in Maine having such fond memories of the Edmundston-Madawaska area, its natural setting and wishing to be closer to their children. Regrettably he was not able to pursue this dream.
The close family will be planning a memorial service in Edmundston, NB in the presence of the ashes in the Spring or early Summer of 2011. Expressions of sympathy may be expressed in the form of donations to local hospice services in the communities where family and friends live in accordance with individuals' personal choice.
