Robert 'Bob' D. Campbell, 78, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010.
Born in Sydney, N.S., he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Dwyer) Campbell.
Bob was retired from the Federal Public Service (Department of Indian Affairs) with 32 years service and attended St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church. Bob enjoyed music, especially singing and playing the guitar, was an avid golfer at Magnetic Hill Golf and Country Club and had a keen interest for reading about history. He and Marie enjoyed travelling to Florida for 17 years (golfing), socializing with his friends and spending precious time with his family and grandkids.
Bob will be sadly missed by his wife of over 52 years, Marie (Aucoin) Campbell; his children, Mike Campbell, Halifax, N.S., Pat Campbell (Gerard), Montreal, Que., Shauna Scott (John), Saint John, N.B., Kim MacMillan (Dave), Charlottetown, PEI, Dan Campbell (Ailish), Ottawa, Ont., Glen Campbell, Halifax, N.S.; his precious grandchildren, Ryan, Nick, Luke, Jenna, Julien, Brigitte, Matt, Jared, Brent, Justin, Chris, Rob, Mark, Stephen, Lochlan and Vivian; sisters, Keady Morrison, Fran Mackinnon (John), Ethel Turner, Regis Wheatley, Norah Aucoin (Gordon), Lois Haaheim (Don), Cata Clutterham (Don) and Carmel Kehler (Bill), all of British Columbia; brother, Chas (Minnie), Sydney, N.S.; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, predeceased by sisters, Sally, Agnes and Mary, brothers, Cyril, Michael, Dewey and Jack.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton, 506-858-1995, Tuesday 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, Wednesday, Dec. 15, 10 a.m. Rev. Yvon Arsenault officiating. Reception following the Mass. Interment, Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
In Bob's memory, donations to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick, Friends of the Moncton Hospital or memorial of choice would be appreciated by the family.
