Ann Louise Luker (Freeman), 63, Braeshore, passed away at home on June 25, with family at her side, after a long and courageous battle against cancer.
Ann was born on June 11, 1946 in Pictou. She was the second eldest daughter of Pearl (Murphy) Freeman and the late Morris Freeman. Ann is also survived by her husband of 42 years, Brian; daughter Kimberley (Mark) Nikish, Chester Springs, PA; sisters, Marjorie (John) MacLean, Pictou, Beanie (Jim) MacKay, Caribou River, Shannon (George Pavelka) Smith, Burlington, ON and Lee (Fausen) Johnson, Pictou.

Cremation has already taken place. In accordance with Ann’s specific wishes, there will be no visitation. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of the McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann’s name may be made to the VON, the Palliative Care unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, or a charity of choice.
Thanks go to the many excellent caregivers from the VON and the palliative care unit during her ordeal. Particular thanks to Dr Randy Burrill for his truly outstanding support.
