(October 22, 1954 - December 13, 2010) - The passing of Daniel Tompkins Sr. of Plaster Rock, NB occurred on December 13, 2010 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital at the age of 56. Born in Hamilton, ON he was the son of Norman Tompkins Sr. and the late Isabell (St. Peter) Tompkins. Besides his dad Daniel Sr. is survived by his children Daniel (Sarah) Tompkins of New Denmark, Lynn (Felix) McLaughlin of Currie Rd., Jessica (Kenny) Duncan of Wolfville, NS, Tyler (Katie) Tompkins and Elizabeth (Aleks) Deleavey all of Fredericton; five grandchildren Matthew, Holly, Zack, Josh and Brittany (little red head tornado); one sister Gayle (Timmy) Steeves of Currie Rd.; two brothers Norman Jr. (Doreen) Tompkins of Currie Rd. and Terry (Denise) Tompkins of Perth-Andover. Predeceased by his mom, infant brother Keith and grandparents. Daniel Sr. worked for Fraser Company for over 35 years. In later years he operated his own business and equipment (D& K Tompkins & Sons). He enjoyed being in business because of the challenge. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Resting at White's Chapel, 85 Centennial St. Plaster Rock with visiting hours on Wednesday December 15th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday December 16th at 2 pm from the Lerwick Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Chase officiating. Interment in the Lerwick Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
