
Karen Roberts
ROBERTS, Karen E. - 67, of Parrsboro passed away Monday, December 13, 2010 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mabel (Winter) Rowlings. She was a quiet woman who was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by all. Karen spent much of her adult life in Ontario, but her love of Nova Scotia brought her back to live in Parrsboro for the past fifteen years. For most of those years she was Secretary/Treasurer for the Royal Canadian Legion in Parrsboro. She is survived by her partner, David; son, Michael Maindonald and daughter, Christena Maindonald, both of Alliston, Ont.; sisters, Judy Gee (Michael), Parrsboro; Diane Wykes, West Vancouver, B.C.; grandson, Archie Maindonald; nieces, Heather Kimmie (Don); Kimberly Kerridge (Ritch Whyman); and Stephanie Kerridge (Marc Milliard); nephew, Mark Wykes (Lisa); great-nephews, Luc Milliard, Jacob and Colson Wykes, Braydon and Devon Kimmie; other family and friends including former husband, Wayne Maindonald, Victoria Harbour, Ont.; very special cousins, Georgia Hingley (Henry), Fox River; Patricia Mosher (Randy), Hantsport; John McCabe (Cathy), Halifax; and dear friend, JoeAnn Keating, Parrsboro. Cremation has taken place and will be followed at a later date by a private burial service at Grace United Church Cemetery in Port Greville.
