It is with great sadness the family of the late Mary Elizabeth Jeans announces her passing on December 12, 2010 at the LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques at the age of 89 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Gerald (Vera) Jeans, Grand Bay, Joe (Grace) Jeans, Grand Bay, Rose (Ed) Gosse, Corner Brook, Susie (Fred) Thomas, Corner Brook, Bernice (Melvin) Payne, St. John's, Gordon (Cassie) Jeans, Cape Ray, Fred (Ellen) Jeans, Moncton, NB, Alice (Hubert) Leamon, Cape Ray, Jerome (Bev) Jeans, Fort McMurray, Everett Jeans, Port aux Basques, and Todd (Diane) Jeans, BC; 37 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, sisters, Margaret Cornick, Port aux Choix and Christine Wilcox, Bay d'Espoir, and brothers, Lawrence Organ and Jerome Organ, Bay d'Espoir, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was pre-deceased by her husband, James Jeans, sons, Lawrence, Baby David, parents, William and Rosanna Organ, brothers, Tom Organ, and Ralph Organ. Visitation took place from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Port aux Basques, on Monday, 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., from St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Cape Ray on Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. from where the funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. with Rev. Peter Boote officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Janeway Children's Hospital.
