POWER, Gregory - 45, Truro. It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our loving son, father and brother on Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, with his loving family by his side. Born February 8, 1965, in Truro, he was a son of Patricia (Whitman) O'Malley, Truro and Bill (Debbie) Power, Dartmouth. Greg was employed at the VG Hospital for a number of years and most recently for NS Power in Trenton. He was an avid sports fan and especially fond of the Montreal Canadiens. Along with his parents, Greg is survived by his sons, Matthew Hatfield-Power, Chad Hatfield, Dartmouth; sisters, Vicki MacRae (Joe Gamble), Five Islands; Leisa (Eddie) Morel, Fort McMurray, Alberta; brothers, Tony (Carol), Lantz; Terry (Lisa), Fort McMurray; companion, Charity Chappell, New Glasgow; nephews, David, Billy, Michael, Brandon, Nicholas. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Harold and Dorothy Whitman; niece, Courtney; nephew, Joshua. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, December 18, 2010. Reception will follow.
