Antonia Van Gaal
At Hotel-Dieu of Saint Joseph Hospital, Perth-Andover, December 15, 2010, Mrs. Antonia Van Gaal of Grand Falls (Portage) passed away at the age of 89. She was the wife of Wout Van Gaal. Born at Schaijk, Holland in 1921, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Maria (Van den Hoogan) Benkers. Mrs. Van Gaal was a homemaker and also was her husband's partner in the operation of the family farm. She is survived by her husband, seven children, Betsy Coleman (Dave) and Theodore (Lise) of Fredericton, Clymena Brennan (Robert) of Florenceville, Bernie (Brenda) of PEI, Louis (Carmen) of Morrell Siding, Mary Van Gaal (Gary Hughes) of Fredericton and Joseph (Carolyn) of Grand Falls, 18 grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Eric, Jason, Michelle, Ronnie, Jay, Bobby, Anthony, Meghan, Caitlin, Willem, Ethan, Nick, Andrew, Monique, Toni and Morgan, three great grandchildren, one sister, Maria Albers of Schiajk, Holland, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Anthony.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Sunday only, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Her funeral service will be held Monday, December 20th at 11 a.m. from St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls (Portage) with Father Gilbert Doddatto officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. For those who wish, donations to Friends of St. Patrick's or the Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
