Nov. 8, 1919 - Dec. 14, 2010. "Oh For the Wings of a Dove" have embraced Olga on her journey. Olga was a gift to all she encountered. Born on Wood Street in St. John's, her fondest youthful memories were of summers in Alder Harbour and Brown's Arm before studying at Memorial College and the Toronto General School of Nursing. Olga is known to many as an artist, spirited and faithful gardener, proud alto, lover of literature, first nurse on the M.V. Christmas Seal and a lifetime member of Cochrane St. Church UCW. Her clever wit, gentleness, and depth of human kindness were radiant. Olga saw beauty in everything and inspired everyone around her. She now joins her beloved husband Walter H. Davis (predeceased 1993). Their children: Herbert (Chantal Pitteloud), Jennifer Guy (John), Deborah Murray (Craig), Geoffrey (Michele Toskovich), Charlotte Jewczyk (Stephen) are truly blessed by their stalwart values, insight and compassion that charted their life's journey together. Grandchildren: Floyd Davis (Taryn Rosenthal), Hannah Marchand (Michael), Lindsay Adey (Jon), Christianna Weaser (Sean), Fraser, Georgia (Anthony Day), and Clifton Murray, Steven, Gregory, Sean and Stuart Davis, Trevor Jewczyk (predeceased), Nicholas, Matthew, Jenny and Kathryn Jewczyk; great-grandchildren: Gabrielle and Cameron Davis and their friends are embraced with the memories of her fun loving, wise and heart warming ways. Olga is survived by her sister Louise Strothard and predeceased by her brothers Ted, Howard, Gerald, Harry, Jack Drover and sister Marjorie Strong. Cochrane Street United Church Restoration Fund is accepting donations to celebrate, with thankfulness for her glorious life. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday and from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Friday. Funeral service to be held from Cochrane Street United Church on Saturday, December 18th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
