HAMILTON, Lillian "Adeline" (Gray) - 90, of Villa St. Joseph du-Lac, formerly of Forest Glen, went home to be with her Lord on December 12, 2010, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born September 21, 1920, in Kemptville, Yarmouth Co., she was a daughter of the late Marsden and Annie (Hamilton) Gray. Adeline was a member of Evangel Assembly Church. As a young woman, she worked at the clothes pin factory in Carleton until she married. She was a Sunday school teacher and also taught herself to play the organ, accordion and guitar. She wrote many poems, short stories and was an avid reader. She loved to knit, make quilts and enjoyed her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by daughters, Audrey (Bill) MacDonald, Digby; Shirley (Mervin) Newell, Middle East Pubnico; sons, Harold "Bud", Port Perry, ON; Maurice (Heather), Forest Glen; John (Brenda), Prospect, Halifax Co.; daughter-in-laws, Gloria Hamilton, Deerfield; Linda Hamilton, Hebron; sisters, Flora Leblanc, Harriett Bullerwell and Lillian White; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband, George W. Hamilton; sons, Larry and Ross; brothers, Merrill, Harold and Fred; sisters, Myrtle, Eva and Fannie. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Yarmouth. Visitation took place Wednesday, December 15 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held Thursday, December 16 at 2 p.m. in Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Oral Stewart officiated. Interment followed in Forest Glen Cemetery. Family flowers only, please.
