DOLTER: Ronald Paul, age 75 years of Swift Current, SK passed away Monday, December 13, 2010 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK. A Resurrection Mass was held at 2:00 P.M., December 17, 2010 from Christ The Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, Swift Current, SK with Father James Owolagba officiating. The Urn Bearer was Rudy Dolter and the eulogist was Dr. Bill Smith. The pianist was Denis Pion, accompanying the Christ The Redeemer Choir. The ushers were Brad Klein,Curt Klein,Michelle Klein and Debbie Gross. Ron is survived by his spouse Marlene, Swift Current, SK; a son Mick Dolter, Calgary, AB; a son Ronald Dolter (Judy), Swift Current, SK; a son Mark Dolter (Shilde Gow), Airdrie, AB; a daughter Jacqueline (Read) Latosky, Salmon Arm, BC and a daughter Shirlee & Brad Moerke, Calgary, AB. Also surviving are grandchildren: Rudy, Kye, Lynden Dolter; Meagan, Jordan, Brodie Dolter; Marisa, Avia, Chloe Latosky and sisters: Isabelle Dumanski and Fran Rule. He was predeceased by his parents: Ada & Wilfred Dolter; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Henry & Ann Dolter; sister and brother-in-law Madeline & Jack Knott and a brother Clem Dolter. Ron was born in the Indian Head District of Saskatchewan on September 4, 1935 and attended school in the Sintaluta district. He was united in marriage to Marlene Schneider, November 23, 1957 in St. Joseph's Church, Moose Jaw, SK. He was employed at the Wolseley Locker Plant then moved to Swift Current with National Supply, and eventually Thompson Auto supply in Swift Current and finished his career at South Sask Pipeline where he was employed for 28 years. During his term at SSPL he spent time overseas in Saudi Arabia. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, Former Executive member of the Swift Current Indians, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, OTS and the Swift Current Curling Club. His special interests included his garden, and you could always see Ron out watering his grass and flowers. His BBQ was important. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting geese and fishing. Ron was a sports lover, who enjoyed curling and competing at all levels. He truly enjoyed baseball competing/coaching in his earlier years and was an avid follower of the Blue Jays. Ron was a season ticket holder of the Swift Current Broncos. Ron was very much a family man. His door was always open to many and coffee was always on. In his later years his "Coffee Row" friends were valued by him. Big Band swing was an important source of fun and many a floor was cleared to make room for Ron & Marlene's jives. Sing songs and music filled their social lives. Donations to the charity of the donor's choice, would be appreciated by the family.
