1924 - 2010 - John "Jack" Geldart passed away unexpectedly on December 20th, 2010 in Lincoln, NB. He was the son of the late Donis and Greta Geldart. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jean Geldart; his three children, Judy Moore of Saint John, John (Maria) of Fredericton and Kathy Steeves (Clifford) of Riverview and his eleven grandchildren, William, Emma, Tiago and Guy Geldart, Geordan, Josh and Ben Moore, Jeremy (Betsy), Sarah and Jana Steeves and Kelsey (Vish) Chawla. After serving in the Canadian Merchant Navy, he was employed by Air Canada, retiring after 35 years. He enjoyed gardening, reading, carpentry, skating, travelling, whittling and spending time with his family. He was faithfully involved in his church and volunteering in his community.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Oromocto Baptist Church on Thursday, December 23rd, 2010 at 1:00 pm. Rev. Dr. Perry Hanley will be officiating assisted by Rev. Norman Woodworth. Interment will take place in the Lower Lincoln Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jack made to the CBM - Sharing Way, Canadian Cancer Society, Samaria House or the Oromocto Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family. www.oromoctofh.com, 357-5100
