It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Frederick Dakin Cole, 68, of Amherst on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan, following a car-pedestrian accident.
Born in Wolfville, NS, he was a son of the late George Fraser and Grace (Bordon) Cole.
Fred was employed by C.T. Engineering as a Sales Manager for 15 years, and later owned and operated Cole Roofing in Amherst for number of years.
In his younger years, Fred was an active member of the Masonic Order. Fred took great pride in his dogs and belonged to the Tantramar Kennel Club for many years.
Fred will be lovingly remembered by his children, Fraser Cole, Barrie, ON, Kathy Bates (Ron Lake), Amherst, Gail Steffan, Orangeville, ON and Nikole Cole, Stephenville, NL; grandchildren, Stephanie and Kevin Ankner; as well as his cousins, Diane and Merna and extended family.
He was predeceased by his grandson, Corey Bates in 2007.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst.(667-9906).
A private graveside service at the Amherst Cemetery will be held in the spring.
