Passed peacefully away on June 26, 2009, at the Palliative Care Unit, St. John’s, in the arms of his wife and children, following a prolonged battle with cancer, Ignatius Bowen of St. Mary’s, aged 68 years. His journey was eased by the loving support of all those around him. He is predeceased by parents Vincent & Margaret Bowen; brothers: Jim, Vincent and John; brother-in-law George Lee, father-in-law William White, brothers-in-law Aiden and Lawrence White and sister-in-law Paula White. Leaving to mourn wife Teresa, daughter Elaine (Neil), son Gary (Paula); three precious grandchildren: Lori, Michael and Brandon, mother-in-law Mary White, sisters Beryl (Eddy) and Madonna; brothers: Jerome (Bridget), Eugene (Lorraine) and Robert (Anna); sisters-in-law: Lorraine (Pat), Eileen, Irene (Michael) and Pat (Gary); brother-in-law Gary and a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Resting at Gibbons’ Funeral Home, St. Mary’s, on Sunday, June 28, 2009, and Monday, June 29, 2009, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, St. Mary’s, at a time to be announced with burial to follow.
