Ron passed away suddenly on December 21, 2010 at the age of 64.

He was a loving husband to Rita to whom he was married for 40 years, father to Tammy (Chad) and Shane; Grandfather to Jorden, Kasen, Madisen and Ryersen.

Ron was born in Vaasa, Finland, the second oldest of five children born to Laine and Alvar Kurki. His family immigrated to Vancouver, B.C. in 1965.

Ron in predeceased by his parents.
Ron's passion in life was carpentry and once he settled in Kamloops in 1981, he began his life's dream to build custom homes. Ron was always interested and willing to help family and friends, fix something, build something or work on any project. His favourite pastimes included spending time with his family and friends, reading, fishing, traveling and being outdoors.

Ron was a kind and gentle soul who was always sensitive to the needs of others. He led a life of service. He will be dearly missed but lovingly remembered.
A funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2165 Parkcrest Avenue in Kamloops, on Thursday, December 30th, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. Graveside interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery with luncheon reception afterwards at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where we can celebrate Ron's life together as family and friends.
