TRENTON/TRURO - Rann, Christy, 92, Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, December 24, 2010, at the home.
Born July 31, 1918, in Trenton, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Jessie (MacDermid) MacDonald.
Christy was a member of First United Church, Truro, where she attended UCW, taught Sunday school, was a CGIT leader and was a member of IODE and Order of Eastern Star. She was also a member of Truro Ladies Curling Club, where she had served as president. She loved to play piano and sing.
Christy is survived by her daughter, Susan Rann, Truro; son, David Jr. (Heather Louise) Rann, North River; grandchildren: Jason (Heather Dawn), Scott (Kathy), Nicholas "Nick" (Tanis), Sarah Jane; great-grandchildren: Summer, Jacob, Aidan, Stella, Eva, Thomas; sister, Norma Mason, Trenton; brother, Hughie (Helen) MacDonald, New Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, David James "Jim" Rann, Sr.; several siblings.

All are welcome to attend a graveside funeral service that will be held 11 a.m., Friday, December 31, 2010, at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, Alma, Reverend Roger Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Christy's memory to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or Canadian Cancer Society are welcomed.
