WHELAN, Rita Marie - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Friday, December 24th, 2010. Rita Marie Whelan, aged 80 years. Predeceased by her parents Mary and Daniel Whelan, sister Kathleen and brother Raymond. Leaving to mourn her only son Bas (Cathy); 2 grandchildren: Chris (Fiancée Jennifer) and Chad (Karyn); sister: Maureen; brothers: Gus (Madeline), Pat (Betty) and Michael, Montreal. A special thank you to the staff and residents of Pearl House for all the love and care. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Cremation has taken place. Visitation on Sunday and Monday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, December 28th, 2010 at 10 a.m. from Mary Queen of the World Parish. Inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of one's choice.
