It is with great sadness that the family of the late Maurice McCarthy announce his sudden passing on Sunday, June 28th, 2009 at the age of 71 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories is his son: Grant McCarthy, Benoits Cove; mother: Mrs Mary Alice McCarthy, Interfaith Home; three sisters: Sylvia (Jim) Hickey, Benoits Cove, Jean (Verdon) Wells, Corner Brook and Catherine (Fred) Barrow, Alberta; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Daniel and his brother Norman. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 1st at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady Star of the Sea, Benoits Cove. Father Bernard Buckle officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
