William James Ralph Rowe

was born on March 31, 1920 to Douglas and Gladys Rowe. William was promoted to Glory on December 28, 2010, at the Interfaith Home, Carbonear at the age of 90 years. William served overseas in World War 2 in the Royal Navy for 5 years and a number of months. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. William held the position of Property and Flag Sergeant in the Salvation Army Corps, Winterton. He is predeceased by parents Doug and Gladys, brothers: Alan, Claude and Stan, brother-in-law Willis Brinson. William leaves to mourn his wife Annie of 63 years. Together they had four sons: Wayne, Norman (Ingrid), William Jr. (Darlene) and Gary (Ginette); two daughters: Captains Karen Crocker (George), Sharon, friend Jeff; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother Doug Rowe (Ann); one brother-in-law Enos Brinson (Grace); four sisters-in-law: Mable, Lillian, Joan and Pauline. Also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Green's Funeral Home, Winterton. Visiting hours Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday 10-12 a.m. Funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. from the Salvation Army Lower Trinity Corps, Winterton. Interment in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Winterton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund, Winterton.
