Having travelled much in recent years, she has set out on her last voyage. With broken hearts we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, aunt and sister after a courageous battle with cancer on December 26, 2010. Born August 23, 1940 in St. Thomas, Newfoundland. Predeceased by her parents James and Bridgett (Field); her brothers Wayne and Richard; and her daughter Juanita Joan. Leaving to mourn her children: Patricia (Tom) - Ottawa, Shawn (Linda) - Halifax, Doug (Hannah) - Calgary, James (Kim) - Halifax and Richard - Abu Dhabi; grandchildren: Laura, Nicholas, Faith & step-granddaughter Liberty; sisters: Regina and Eleanor (Peter) - St. Thomas, Newfoundland; brothers: Michael (Alexa) - Bell Island, Newfoundland, James (Helen), Ed (Lillian), Kevin (Brenda) and Phillip - St. Thomas, Newfoundland; and many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She will always be fondly remembered by everyone she touched. Very special thanks to the spiritual staff at the Palliative Care Unit, Grey Nuns Community Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta - your kindness will never be forgotten. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will take place in St. Thomas, Newfoundland, in Summer 2011 at a date to be announced.
