It is with great sadness that the family of the late James Leo Power announce his passing into eternal life with his loving and devoted family by his side at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in his 76th year on June 29, 2009. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories: his loving and devoted wife and best friend Patricia of 53 years; only son Tony (Barb); six daughters: Mary (Tony), Colleen (Gus), Carol (Harley), Jamie (Francis), Jackie (Barry), Patti (Keith); his nine cherished grandchildren; Jeffrey (Marg), Bradley (Tonya), Craig (Stephanie), Kayla, Nicole (Travis), Patrick (Terilyn), Nicholas, Adam & Justin; special friend PJ Shea, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Pre-deceased by his parents: John & Rita Power; brother Jerome, sisters: Mary & Elizabeth and sister-in-law Patricia. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Ave. on Tuesday evening 7-9pm, Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 2nd at 10:30 am from All Hallow’s Parish, Humber Road. Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations to the Newfoundland & Labrador Heart & Stroke Foundation, The Shepherd’s Fund or charity of one’s choice.
