Mabel Leota Tupper - 60, of Scott's Bay, Kings County, passed away Friday, December 17, 2010 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Dorothy (Dykens) Huntley. She had been employed at the Rite Way Beauty Salon and also worked with her sister at Ward's General Store, Centreville for many years. She is survived by four sisters, Berneice (Ronald) Ward, Centreville; LaVerne (Arthur) Dowell, Cambridge; Marion (Harold) Power, Coldbrook; Brenda Barkhouse, Scott's Bay; eight brothers, Vaughn (Elaine), Sackville; Daniel (Donna), Everett (Louise), Philip (Gwen) and Robert (Elizabeth), all of Scott's Bay; Kenneth (Frances), Pereau and Howard (Juanita), New Minas; a sister-in-law, Brenda Huntley, Scott's Bay; nieces, Kimberley (Katherine) Simpson-Ward and Tina (Trevor) Kennickell; nephews, James (Charlotte) Huntley and Matthew Huntley; many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Claude; her daughter, Leisa Leigh; an infant sister, Mildred and a brother, Lawrence. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, December 26, 2010 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 27, 2010, Reverend June Keddy officiated. Burial took place in the Scott's Bay Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
