NICKERSON, Lorna Mae - 76, of Yarmouth, passed away at Yarmouth Regional Hospital on December 26, 2010. Born March 4, 1934, in Halifax, she was an adopted daughter of the late George and Rita Burrel. Lorna was a long-time member of the Yarmouth Wesleyan Church. She was a volunteer for many years with the Salvation Army. During her working years, she was employed at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital in the housekeeping department. She was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by all her friends at Churchill Manor. She is survived by special friend, Donald Watkins; sister, Eleanor Hurlburt, Kentville; niece, Jean Hurlburt, Yarmouth; great great-niece, Alyssa Hurlburt; several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Cecil. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Yarmouth. Visitation took place Tuesday, December 28 from 7-9 p.m. at Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service was held Wednesday, December 29 at 2 p.m. from Yarmouth Wesleyan Church, Pastor Dave Wilcox officiated. Interment followed in Chegoggin Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
