Catherine (Cathy) Elizabeth Peters of Moncton, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Monday January 3rd , 2011 at the age of 57. Born in Amherst, NS, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Catherine C. (MacCuish) Peters. Cathy had been employed as an office administrator for several years. An avid curler and golfer, she was past president of the Beaver Curling Club and a member of the Country Meadows Golf and Country Club where she enjoyed spending time with her numerous friends. At home she enjoyed family gatherings, quilting, crafts, cooking and a good book. Besides her mother, Catherine, she is survived by her sisters, Anna Peters, Mary Daley (Ed) both on Moncton, and Jeanne Flanagan (Leonard) of Johnson Point, brothers, Bill and Eric (Carmen) both of Moncton, several nephews and one niece. Cathy was predeceased by her father William E Peters in 1999.
At her request there will be no visiting hours at the funeral home. The family invite you to attend a memorial service in Cathy's memory on Thursday, January 6th, 2011 at 11:00 am from Humphrey Memorial United Church, 95 Massey Ave., Moncton with Rev. Gail MacDonald officiating, with a reception to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Humphrey Memorial United Church or to the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
