TRENTON - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Christina Marie "Chris" Hughes MacDonald, our loving mother and friend, on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, in the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow.
Born in Antigonish, she was the daughter of the late Duncan Archie and Marie (MacPherson) MacDonald.
She was a member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church and Altar Society.
She is survived by daughters: Aileen (John) Brown, Amherst; Judy Hughes (Paul Thorne), New Glasgow; Brenda (Bill) Huntley, Calgary, AB; sons, Jim (Linda) Hughes, Miramichi, NB; Gary (Judy) Hughes, St. John's, NL; 10 grandchildren: Grant Hughes, Elmsdale; Jenny Walsh, St. John's, NL; Shawn Hughes, Lantz; Tracey Seymour, Ottawa; Nicole Hughes, St. John's, NL; Rebecca, Jana and Logan Huntley, all of Calgary; Linda Brown, Ottawa; James Brown, PEI; six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by son, Owen; grandson, Sean Brown; brothers: John, Hugh and Duncan.
Visitation 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral mass 11 a.m. Friday in Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Trenton, with Father Bill Rankin officiating. Burial will be in Christ the King Cemetery.
