TRAVERSE, Peter – August 11, 1923 – October 14, 2008. Passed away quietly on October 14, 2008, surrounded by loving family and friends, Peter Francis Traverse, age 85 years. Peter has gone to rest with his parents Michael and Catherine, his brother Michael, sister Gertrude, brothers-in-law Aloysious and John and son-in-law Paul Martin. Left with precious memories that will last a lifetime is his wife Anne of 53 years, Brother Thomas (Lena) and Rita Traverse. Also his children: Catherine, Dominic (Doreen), Josephine (Lance), Wayne (Evelyn), Andrew (Bernadette), Eileen (Gerrit), Gerard (Tina), Mary (Don), Nick (Janet) and 15 treasured grandchildren. Many cherished memories are also shared by his very dear and close friends Ambrose and Lorraine McCarthy, Joe Greene, Darren Foley, Jason Ryan and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, relatives and neighbors. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Placentia Area Health Care Complex for their excellent care and support. Funeral Mass to be held at Sacred Heart Parish, Placentia on Friday, October 17th at 11 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Maher’s Funeral home. Visitations: Wednesday 2 p.m. – 9 p.m; Thursday 2 p.m. – 9 p.m. Flowers greatly accepted or donations made in Peter’s memory to The Royal Canadian Legion, Placentia, Branch #33.
