It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Anne Alice Swazey on January 5, 2011 at her home in Fredericton, NB. Born in Boiestown, NB in 1931, she was the daughter of the late Irvine and Beatrice (Flynn) McCloskey. She is survived by her loving husband Lawrence, of 57 years and son Tim, both of Fredericton; her sister Jackie Ross of Boiestown, NB; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends and neighbours. Anne was predeceased by brothers Joe and James; niece Heather Ross, sister-in-law Doreen Stewart, brothers-in-law Vaughan Ross and Joe Brennan, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Prior to her retirement she was employed at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, NB.
As per the family's wishes there will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday January 8, 2011 at 2 PM from St. Dunstan's Roman Catholic Church, Regent Street, Fredericton, NB with Father Gerry White officiating. There will be a reception held immediately following at the Monsignor Boyd Family Center. Pallbearers will be Peter Ross, Joel Ross, Jason Swazey, Kenneth Price, Mike Gillespie and David Stewart.In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make donations may do so to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society and would be greatly appreciated by the family. Interment at St. Joachim's Roman Catholic Cemetery in Boiestown, NB will follow at a later date. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Bishop's Funeral Home in Fredericton, NB.
