Huber, Nora Irene (nee Urwin)
March 11, 1918 - December 22, 2010
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norah Irene Huber at the age of 92 years. Norah was born and raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Fred, who predeceased her in 1995. She was also predeceased by four sisters, one brother and a great-grandson. She is survived by her brother Harry Urwin; two sons, Grant (Cathie) and Brent (Cindy); grandsons Alastair (Bettina), Ryan (Vanessa), Nelson; granddaughter, Roslyn; great-granddaughter, Ellen and several nieces and nephews. After numerous moves across Canada, along with a time in Brazil, Norah and Fred retired to Victoria in 1981, becoming involved with Gordon United Church. Norah loved her choir involvement, women's groups and she had an adept hand at needlepoint.
We would like to thank the Gordon United Church family for their kindness and friendship, as well as the staff and residents of West Shore Lodge for their support and understanding. A special acknowledgement to Adele Murray, a wonderful friend and companion. The family would also like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Victoria General Hospital for their professionalism and care. A celebration of Norah's life will be held at Gordon United Church, 935 Goldstream Ave, Victoria, BC V9B 2Y2 on Saturday, January 15th, 2011 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be forwarded to the Gordon United Church Memorial Fund.
